Oil Separation

Ore Filter is a high-porous filter medium made from a unique diatomite earth for binding and separating contaminants in liquids. The construction of the particle is such that there are pores within pores with a very large surface area. No coatings, no polymers are used to create this OreFilter particle which has natural and inherent oleophobic properties. Various grades available as shown depending on the level of filtration required.

Nova Filsep introduces OreFilter media manufactured by LightOre GmbH an innovative and revolutionary technology by providing our customers with:

  • Highest Recovery of Oil in Water for recycle and reuse.
  • Highest Removal of Oil and TSS levels in water.
  • Increased profits, while meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Protecting the environment by turning oily waste water into resource.

The principle used is COALESCENCE – the highly Oleophobic OreFilter media effectively helps oil coalesce in the interstitial spaces and traps the TSS along with it. :

Heavier the oil, higher the Oil and TSS removal.

OreFilter media has the UNIQUE capacity to handle

  • 1-300 ppm of Oil and TSS : > 99% removal of both Oil and TSS.
  • 300-700 ppm of Oil and TSS : 99% removal of both Oil and TSS.
  • 700-3000 ppm of Oil and TSS : Intermittent loads can be easily handled with a relatively shorter filtration cycle.
  • During upset situations when Oil levels can significantly go up, it has no negative effect on the media, except for a very quick backwash step initiated.
OEasily replace your existing Filter media with OreFilter with no additional modifications to the overall system resulting in outstanding performance of both Oil and TSS removal.
RCapable of operating at high temperatures. Tested successfully on site at 85°C. Higher temperatures of above 100°C, under pressure have not shown any change in the performance of the OreFilter media.
ESignificant savings in water with low backwash rates i.e. 0.2% – 0.8 % of treated water volume due to the highly Oleophobic property of the OreFilter media compared to 1.0% - 1.5% or more for other technologies.
